Don’t forget to do these 3 things after you’ve moved

Moving can be very exciting but it can also be very stressful. There is just so much to think about and so many tasks to tick off your to-do list.
It’s only natural that some of these tasks get put on the backburner as the more important things you have to do push them further and further down the list. Having said that, though, while it’s okay to let some of these slip for now, it’s important not to forget them altogether as they may come back to bite you.
While all of your tasks shouldn’t be carried out in the midst of moving, there are a few things that need to be done as soon as possible after you’ve moved in. Take a look at some of the most crucial ones.
Finding your new dentist
If you look after your teeth and don’t require regular dental care, it’s very normal for the dentist to slip your mind in day-to-day life. If you only visit your dentist every 6 months or so it might be easy to think you have loads of time to sort this out in your new location, especially if you have only just recently been.
However, getting this sorted as soon as possible can save you a lot of time and energy later down the line. It’s also much easier than people think as it’s just a matter of doing your research and contacting the best one for you.
For example, if you’ve recently moved from Sydney to Southport, a quick search for dentist in Southport will be all you need to do to get started.
Getting home insurance
Home insurance may be right for you, depending on what you own and whether or not you are renting, but few sort it as soon as they have unpacked their boxes.
If you already have home insurance, finding out if you can transfer it to your new address may be the easiest thing to do. Otherwise, you may have to set up something new.
While being on the phone to an insurance provider isn’t what anyone wants to do, it’s better to get it out of the way sooner rather than later.
Changing your address, everywhere
With so much of life now being online, your address will be in far more locations than you think.
From online shops you regularly use to all of the accounts you have in different places. Making a list of all the accounts you have and setting aside an hour or two to change your address to your new place is so important.
Not only will you avoid missing important mail but you will also save yourself from having to do this again and again each time you come across somewhere that still has your old address logged.
There is so much to do when moving and less urgent tasks have a tendency to be left for a while. Getting these three things done as soon as you’ve moved though, will really benefit you in the long run.
