Why CBD Wax Is Growing in Popularity

Cannabidiol, known by many as CBD, is a cannabinoid extracted from the hemp plant, and it’s having a bit of a moment in popular culture. Many people use CBD products to help with relaxation and focus throughout the day. Others CBD users claim that it helps calm their anxiety and reduces inflammation chronic pain from injuries or arthritis. Due to its popularity and many benefits, CBD brands have come up with myriad ways to consume the compound from vapes to gummies, and from CBD oil to hemp cigarettes. So, with so many different ways to consume CBD, why is wax becoming the shining star? Let’s take a closer look.

Wax offers a wide array of options.

CBD wax is a concentrate made by extracting the cannabidiol compound from the hemp plant and converting it into wax. This means that it will have a much higher concentration of cannabidiol than other CBD products. The extraction process can vary from producer to producer, but a method called CO2 extraction is generally thought to be the “gold standard” for extracting wax.

Whether it was extracted using CO2 or not, wax can be a general term used to describe different forms of CBD compounds with varying textures. Most commonly, the wax will have a viscous consistency, like that of hair gel. However, here are a few other options that fall under the CBD concentrates umbrella.

Crumble: Unlike the more liquid consistency of wax, CBD crumble has a consistency that causes it to fall apart and crumble in your hands like an old cookie (hence its name). Due to its high potency and chemical composition, crumble can cause the entourage effect, which happens when multiple cannabinoids work together for an increased feeling of relaxation.

Shatter: CBD shatter is made by an extraction process of extracting cannabinoids directly from the hemp plant. It doesn’t have any other cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, or THC. Much like crumble, shatter gets its name from its consistency because shatter tends to look like a broken piece of glass.

Isolates (Crystals): An isolate is pure CBD that is extracted and distilled into a crystalline substance that is then crushed and ground by manufacturers into a fine powder. Unlike other full-spectrum CBD products which the FDA permits to have 0.03% THC, this concentrate is pure CBD and contains no other cannabinoids. CBD isolate has no smell or flavor.

Distillates: Through the process of distillation, manufacturers can create CBD distillates by heating and cooling the CBD concentrate. Distillation allows distillers to remove THC from the mix while keeping in other desired cannabinoids and terpenes.

Wax provides fast-acting relief.

Some people wonder why anybody would go through the trouble of using a dab rig to consume their CBD when they could just as easily use gummy or a drink mixed with CBD oil. Well, for some people suffering from panic attacks, anxiety, or sudden bouts of chronic pain these methods don’t act fast enough because they must first enter the liver and digestive systems before they can enter the endocannabinoid system. Using a rig, on the other hand, is one of the fastest ways to feel the effects of CBD.

Wax can also be consumed through a vape pen. The vapor will move directly into your bloodstream through the lungs at the same rate as a dab, but with less potency. It’s for these reasons that CBD consumers who need potent, fast-acting relief are turning to concentrates. Wax also works great for CBD users who want to use some wax, get into their pajamas sets or nighttime flannel, and go straight to sleep!

Great Value

Due to its chemical makeup and process of production, wax is one of the most concentrated CBD products on the market. This means that you are getting the most bang for your buck with concentrates ax as far as potency is concerned. For regular CBD users who need instant relief and are looking for the biggest bang for their buck, there is absolutely no question, wax and other CBD concentrates are the way to go!
